Getting Started

Start Recording

Press the record button  to begin recording a manual.

Abracdabra Instant manual will minimise itself and will only be visible as an icon in the system tray:
 

Record a step

 
Press one of the hot key combinations to capture a screen shot and add text to it.
The standard hot key combinations are:
Print Screen:   Capture Whole Screen
Scroll Lock:     Capture Active Window
Pause / Break:  Capture Window under Mouse Cursor

Stop Recording 

 
You can stop recording steps by clicking on the Instant Manual system tray icon, and selecting Stop, or by pressing the key combination Ctrl+Alt+Print Screen .

Post Recording Editing

After recording the manual steps, you can use the Instant Manual editor to rearrange and format steps, or add any extra text to the manual.

 
Use the File | Properties menu to set the title that will be displayed in the browser when the manual is viewed online. You can also set the background color of the page, and the default text color using this menu.

Save the file by clicking the file save button:
 
the File | Save menu, or by pressing Ctrl + S .

Viewing the manual

Finally, view the finished manual by clicking the View Manual button:

This will open the manual in the default web browser.
